Add a video
1. click the Add content block button and click Video.
We discover an interface very similar to that of an image.
2. Click on Browse your files and select your video file. This option "upload" permit you to select a video stored on your computer. A browser will allows you to select the video file you want to integrate in your storymap. The Format of your file must be .mp4!
You also can select a video directly from the web by selecting the option link and past the url of the video source in the field.
3. Click on add button and... Your video is integrated into the StoryMap! Be carefull that the size must be inferior to 15Mo.
Once your video in the StoryMap, just hover over the video. An option panel will appear, very similar to the image one but with a different in the parameters. Let click on it!
You access the video options panel.
As you can see, you will access three tabs options:
- Display: just to lets readers see a quick snapshot of the video.
- Playback: allows you to choose what happen when video page appear to the reader. Click to play: the reader have to click the play button to start the video, Autoplay without controls: the video will automaticly start and looping, Autoplay with controls been the same except the reader will have access to controls. This last option allows you the option with video loop (not recommended).
- Properties: Allows you to add an alternative text in case the video have problem to load.
Important notes:
- Don't forget that your photos will be integrated into the web. They must therefore be processed before adding them to the storymap so as not to exceed 500Ko!
- Don't forget to source your photos and check the copyrights conditions!
