create a Sidecar
- Click on the Add content block and select Text as Heading.
- Copy and paste:

1. Click Add content block and choose sidecar. On new window opens purposing you options about the type of sidecar you want: Docked or Floating?
Docked: Text and extra media scroll vertically alongside your main media.
Floating: Text and extra media scroll overtop your main media, which fills the background.
You can select the sidecar type you want without stress because you can always change this later!

2. Let select clicking the Docked type, just for testing! A new block is added which is like an edition section:
- (1) Left column where you can add text basic and media blocks.
- (2) sidecar editor.
- (3)Add photo or map.
3. Add a photo on the right part (3). The photo is integreted in the Sidecar!
An important option to be explored now is the way the photo will be display!
4. Select options button...
Now you can choose how the photo will be integrated into the sidecar.
Fill option: your photo will be displayed with its original size into the sidecar frame. If your photo is bigger than the sidecar frame, your photo will appear zoomed. You can choose how the photo will be cropped be pointing the area with the mouse on the image preview.
Fit option(recommended): Whatever the size of your original photo, ArcGis Storymap will fit the photo on the sidecar frame.
5. Now the photo is integreted in the sidecar slide! Copy and Paste text block on the left part!

6. Let's Add a new slide into our sidecar by Clicking on the right button in the editor (2).
7. Repeat the same process with another photo! You will create a new slide, and you can add as many slide you need.
The sidecar allows you to choose proportions between the image (or map) and the text with this options:
Test it and choose the display you like! One benefit of the storymap creation experience is that virtually every choice we make is editable at any time!
For exemple, you can change your mind concerning the sidecar type we choose (Docked)!
You can click on the "..." button in the left part of the editor and select the type Floating.
Notes: You can try another immersive block, the slideshow which is exactly the same way to do!
Click on Add content block in the storymap and select "slideShow".
