Create a Map Tour
The map tour offers the reader the possibility of discovering places through photos, videos and text while viewing his position on a map. Several choices are available to us.
1. Click on Add content block button on the storymap and select maptour.
Guided option:
The places visited by the reader will respect a mandatory order. Two options are available on the guided type:
- Media focused: The photos will take a large place in our visit while the map will be smaller.
- Map focused: The map takes up the whole screen while the photo and the text will be represented in a simple banner
Explorer:
Readers can explore tour spots in whatever order they choose (a great option for tours with lots of points). It will be represented on two display options: List of spots or Grid.
Once again, whatever you choose, you can always change this later as in the sidecar page of this tutorial!
2. Let create a guided tour with map focused display option!

6. choose a location on the map and select zoom level on Use the current zoom option and click Done.
The option use map tour setting will calculate the appropriate zoom to fit all the spots you will create on hte map.
7. Finally we can customize the map clicking on the Map options on the upper right of the map.
8. Choose a new base map and click Done at the bottom left
9. As in the side car editor, add a new slide with the right button of the editor area.
